In 1959, Charles and Helene von Büren founded von Büren SA watch factory in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, driven by their passion for diving. Their exclusive focus became underwater watchmaking, an uncharted territory at the time.

This dedication led to the creation of the iconic 50 Atmos line of watches, instantly recognizable to both watch collectors and divers. Notably, their "von Büren case" design has been adopted by numerous other watch companies over the years, showcasing Squale's expertise in underwater watch design.

The Squale shark logo has been synonymous with extreme quality and ruggedness for over half a century.
